This was done for the This Week Jam, the subject this particular week being the sometimes leader of the Authority, Jack Hawksmoor, King of Cities. This was an ambitious one this week for me. I had the image in my head, but damn it all if it wasn’t a bitch to draw. Two bitches to color! For those not familiar with the history of the remarkable series, Jack was abducted by aliens and given hordes of weird alien tech transplants, allowing him, among other things, to be literally life-linked to urban environments… he can phase through a built environment, sink into the ground and reappear in another city, climb vertical surfaces, leap tall buildings, etc. and the bigger the city, the stronger he becomes. So take him OUT of the city, and he’s hurting, big time. And factor in hillbilly assassin cyborg SETH, who single-handedly almost killed the whole team at the end of Authority Vol. 1… and you’ve got some trouble!
