Well, those of you using Photoshop CS2 ont he PC have surely noticed (or flipped out and killed the whole villagem if you were me) that with CS2 Adobe slyly disabled File Explorer preview support, in a dodgy effort to coerce you into using Adobe Bridge. I’ve been looking, off and on, for months for a method to correct this grievance, as reliant as I am on File Explorer for file management these days (I used to always use ACDSee for such things, but it won’t install on my current system for whatever reason…!)

This patch was furnished in a Photoshop support forum, and I researched it for awhile before risking it. It DOES involve two scripted registry changes. But I’ve finally tried it and it DOES work. Mileage may vary, but I’m one happy robot over here.

That’s a Rapidhare link to the zip that includes two dlls and two registry edits.

Save the dlls to C/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Shell

and run the two scripts, and you’re done.

Al alternative, for those shy of running mysterious scripts on their registry (ha) is to install an onlder version of Photoshop tandem to CS2… which accomplishes the same thing.
