This piece was done for the This Week Jam, the character being DC’s Batwoman, from the pages of 52.
Joao’s contribution to the This Week Jam, while definitely including one smokin’ hot Batwoman (love the sheen of the black portions of the costume,) is truly arresting thanks to his portrayal of Gotham Detective Renee Montoya (ex-girlfriend of Batwoman) ina Robin costume. I lover her expression and the cancer stick. Plus, there’s no question that Robin costume looks better on a female form!
Awesome!

This piece was done for the This Week Jam, the character being Marvel’s Stature.
Cassie Lang, daughter of Antman, (now pushing up reeeeealllly tiny daisies,) was a welcome addition to the Young Avengers title. Her costume is kind of Ultimatized, but it works for her when drawn by Cheung. Sometimes i think it’s a little dull, but it’s responding to her father’s old look, so. Anyway, cute girl, cool character…

Bangkok Bill is the leader of the sensationalist terror gang, Fingers of Hirabah.

Melee: 05
Reflex: 05

Will: 20

Abilities:
Animation: Bangkok Bill’s latent posthuman ability, often misconstrued as magic or enchantment, is to physically animate inanimate objects. By force of will, he can cause objects to change shape, to interact with their environment, and to take on abilities of his choice. He believes this ability to be mystic powers granted to him as a part of a curse under which he suffers. In reality, they are an apparently spontaneous posthuman ability of undetermined source, though it is possible his exposure to other posthumans may have been the cause. Bangkok Bill carries a number of charms, totems and fetishes on his belt, which he can detach and animate in battle, causing them to enlarge and attack his foes. He also carries a staff which he has animated into a giant crow, which he has used for transportation and defense.
Bangkok Bill can animate his totems on his belt, which become large-scale manifestations of the objects they represent, each with a Life and Attributes profile relative to their design and inflict damage [up to 40 DP]. He can also animate other objects around him with similar effects, but reduced potency [up to 20 DP]. Opponents must make a Yellow Will Save or become unnerved by the manifestation and their inability to rationalize it’s existence. Upon the destruction of one of the animated forms, Bangkok Bill can no longer animate that same object or type of object (ie. if he animates a tiger statuette, he may do so again in the … Read on for more awesome…

Here’s a question from Sightblinder, which i moved to answer here:
“Thom, a thread over on Byrne’s site about Hulk’s rampages and whether or not he is an unintentional killer got me wondering about how you handle superhero battles in your world. For instance is there any kind of institution that handles evacuations or clean ups? Are battle royales a common enough occurance in your world to warrant such an institution? I realize you may want to keep things close to the vest about this, but whatever you feel comfortable sharing would be cool to know.”

Thanks for the question!
It’s a tricky one to answer. First of all, a caveat: the TRDL Universe has been unveiled in snippets, so far only through the origins posted for the various TRDL Original Characters on the site. However, in very short order you will see the beginning of a new paradigm for discussing events int he TRDL Universe. Certainly, Joao and I can’t draw the thousands of comics’ worth of stories already mapped out for this world. However, what we’ve been trying to do is establish a system by which we can tell stories from within different periods of TRDL Universe history, while giving an overview of events over time, so those interested can read the virtual history of these characters. The first component of this system will be available this Spring (safe for me to stamp a date, this time!) and once you start reading that, it will be easier to understand how the TRDL Universe works.
That said… yes, there are, and no there aren’t, formal means of doing posthuman battle cleanup.
The TRDL Universe is a living creation that changes over time, but what we’ve done is build on my TRDL design bible which has been in development … Read on for more awesome…
