Scorpia is a member of the Bad Seeds, and is most famous for her cross-team relationship.
Art and Origin: Thom Chiaramonte

Scorpia
Name: Dana Janine Marhsall
Affiliation: The Bad Seeds
Attributes:
Melee: 45
Reflex: 35
Muscle: 25
Vigor: 20
Acumen: 20
Observation: 25
Will: 30
Life: 125
Influence: 75
Abilities:
Bio-Mutation: Prehensile Tail: Scorpia’s latent posthuman ability was the bio-graft of cellular material that was engineered into a 3m tail, which she can control as if it were any other limb. The tail has been grafted with an armored sheath to give it greater resistance to physical damage, beyond the general level of resistance her posthuman treatments granted her entire body (while Scorpia is resistant to physical and energy attacks with an effective Armor of 20, the tail itself is physically armored to 55 AP). The tip of Scorpia’s tale has been fitted with a blade which can be used as an edged weapon, and can administer a debilitating electrical shock. Attacks are made as melee strikes, and the blade causes 35 DP and halves physical Body Armor. A successful strike delivers a charge that requires the victim to make a Yellow Vigor Save or be stunned for 2 rounds. If that attack causes damage through the victim’s armor, then the Save must yield an Orange Cell and the duration will extend to 1d6 rounds. Scorpia may also use her tail to Parry or Grapple with a +2CS Melee bonus. If she Grapples an opponent, she may deliver 30 points of crushing damage per round.
Origin:
Dana Janine Marshall was the lover and partner of the Bad Seeds’ leader, Sabot. She did not undergo posthuman development initially, despite her interest in joining her lover in battle as part of the Bad Seeds confrontation team, because of an unplanned pregnancy. While Sabot and the team conducted staged battles against America’s premiere posthuman heroes, Marshall watched the events unfold on cable.
It was during her sixth month of pregnancy that she began suggesting to her lover that the team consider stepping out from their roles as dutiful players in the world’s most expensive cultural fabrication, and take the respect they had earned. Unfortunately, a miscarriage would postpone such discussions, and she became depressed after losing the child. Finally, Marshall found a reason for hope, after being introduced so a scout for a posthuman black lab program in Australia, through a friend and former member of Blackguard’s technical support team.
Choosing to make this decision alone, Marshall traveled to Melbourne in secret, while the Bad Seeds were in Europe on an operation staged by the United States government in order to boost support for Crest and Shield’s Rampart program. She underwent the radical and somewhat more invasive process, and though she suffered great pain, the prospect of joining Sabot at his side filled her with determination.
Seven months after she reappeared, she found the Bad Seeds a very different team than when she had left. Taken her words to heart, they had gone rogue, becoming a legitimate terrorist cell, taking on postthuman targets with impunity. She also discovered, after rejoining the team at Sabot’s right hand, that he hadn’t mourned her disappearance for long. While he welcomed her as his lover once more, he also spent time with Pugilista, a contract with which Marshall, now Scorpia, was entirely dissatisfied. Her anger at his betrayal stung her, but she nonetheless remained part of the team, and even challenged Sabot for leadership.
However, future encounters with a member of Project Hermes would pique her interest, and threaten her commitment to the lifestyle the Bad Seeds chose. Her clandestine affair with this posthuman hero would put both of them in danger.
