This is a piece done for the This Week Jam, the subject being Silver Sable, from Marvel Comics.

Boy, i loved and then hated this character, growing up. Loved, because it was one of my favorite illustrations in the original marvel Handbooks. Hated, because soon thereafter, in the 90s, she became a silver bodysuit-wearing, thigh-pouch having, bandanna and big hair wielding action heroine. I was imprinted with the earlier idea that she was something like an international Bond villain/femme fatale, and never let go of that image. So, for this jam, I decided to work from Ron Frenz’ original piece, inked by Joe Rubenstein, as I understand from Vlad, and did a similar pose and outfit for mine. Vlad and RK took up the challenge and did the same. Fun stuff!
