Knockout is a member of the international crisis response team, Rampart.
This is another of out TRDL ‘do-overs’. Knockout is one of my oldest characters, dating back to elementary school. She was also one of the first characters I published under the TRDL banner several years ago. I asked Joao to take a pass at re-drawing her character illustration for the site, since my original was old and not my best. He nailed it so perfectly that it’s now the only way I can see the character in my head. That expression is perfect. As before, Joao penciled and inked this illustration, based on my previously-published design, and I colored it.

Abilities:
Enhanced Physiology: Knockout’s body has been physically enhanced to be physiologically developed beyond what is possible through training and genetic predisposition. Her skeletal system and connective tissue have been strengthened, musculature elongated and increased in density and recovery, her glandular system reinforced, and her cardiovascular and nervous systems have been overhauled for increased response and sustained function well beyond normal human levels. The results of the process are reflected in her Attributes above, but also offer the additional benefits of +2 CS on Stun/Shock Saves, +1 CS Save vs. Poison, Drug or de-oxygenation attacks, and can hold her breath in a vacuum or underwater for approximately 30 minutes. She also heals at a rate of 10 points of Life per round.
Enhanced Senses: Knockout’s natural senses have been increased in sensitivity, allowing her to see, hear and smell with a Range of 20. She suffers … Read on for more awesome…

Blowback / E’Tranger
Concept and Art: Thom Chiaramonte

Name: Professor Giles Garvey
Affiliation: Rampart
TRDL Carbon RPG Stats:

Reflex: 30
Muscle: 20
Vigor: 30
Acumen: 40
Observation: 40
Will: 50
Life: 120
Influence: 130
Abilities:
Kinetic Repulsion: Blowback’s latent posthuman ability is to generate an extremely powerful kinetic wave with an Intensity of 50, emanating from his body in a horizontal plane, for a radius of up to 50 Range. He can narrow the focus of this wave to mere millimeters, causing an incredibly powerful shearing action at full power intensity damage, or widen the wave to act as a wavefront and kinetic barrier, to repel objects or clear pathways through large masses (30 DP applied to all targets.) He is reluctant to use this ability, for fear of causing injury or death to innocents in his path, and therefore focuses his use of the ability on relatively short range applications, largely defensive in nature.
Origin:
Professor Giles Garvey was Chief of Research for JEJ Group’s Applied Physics team, a sub-division of the laboratory’s posthuman development program, oriented specifically towards developing posthuman abilities involving the manipulation of physical laws. His early successes involved posthuman manifestations of levitation, increased gravitational forces and bent light. While conducting sample studies on a formula designed to skew the process towards a manifestation of local gravity, the containment chamber in which the molecular components of the serum were being manipulated suffered a temporary power failure. At the exact moment the back-up generators kicked in, one of the containment modules was breached, and an explosive chain reaction from the heavy liquids exposed to oxygen caused the detonation, then implosion, of some of the equipment in the lab, and as technicians were pulled towards the containment unit with … Read on for more awesome…

Balboa is a powered-armor heroine from Project Hermes.

Balboa
Name: Claudia Altamirano
Affiliation: Project Hermes
TRDL Carbon RPG Stats:
Attributes:
Melee: 30
Reflex: 40
Muscle: 40
Vigor: 50
Acumen: 40
Observation: 30
Will: 40
Life: 160
Influence: 110
Abilities:
Powered Armor: Balboa wields a compact, self-powered suit of combat armor, designed to maximize maneuverability and resilience in combat. It is comprised of ceramic compound plating and a micromesh armor weave underneath that protects the sensitive weapons systems and self-charging power battery. The suit generates a high level of heat exhaust, and relies upon a heat sink to maintain safe operating temperature, the failure of which could cause the armor to overheat and potentially explode. The suit is resistant to physical and energy damage through 30 points of Armor over a Core of 40, as well as offering the following capabilities:
Sensor Array: the helmet contains several sensor grids, including telescopic lensing, infrared, thermograph, acoustic and vibration sensors and an interactive HUD. This represents a +2 CS on Observation Actions, in addition to the specific capabilities of each sensor.
Plasma Cannons: The armor has the capability of generating a focused projection of charged plasma energy, a phase-changing weapon that is administered from ports in the armor’s gauntlets. The weapon draws energy from the armor’s power battery, and as such, must be used sparingly to minimize the impact on the suit’s overall power levels. Each plasma attack will cause between 5d10 + 10 points of energy damage, but must be used only once every four rounds in order to reduce strain on the battery. If used with increased frequency, each use requires a Yellow Save, using an effective Intensity of 50 for the power level of the weapon. If failed, the … Read on for more awesome…

This is Jungle, a member of the Intruders, TRDL’s latest posthuman team.
Concept, Design and Art: Joao Marques
Background: Thom Chiaramonte and Joao Marques

Jungle
Name: Paul Sisulu
Affiliation: The Intruders
TRDL Carbon RPG Stats:
Melee: 50
Reflex: 40
Muscle: 30
Vigor: 30
Acumen: 10
Observation: 20
Will: 30
Life: 150
Influence: 60
Abilities:
Jungle’s enhanced abilities are of unknown origin. He demonstrates significantly higher agility and endurance levels than a normal human, and his strength, senses and resistance to injury are clearly posthuman attributes. However, he has never spoken of his past before working at the Kreuger Park, and no public records appear to confirm his mere existence before that time. It is believed that he is the product of one of the private posthuman engineering programs, but no further information has surfaced. Jungle’s enhanced physiology is reflected in the Attributes above.
Hypersensitivity: Jungle’s vision, hearing and olfactory sense are all dramatically more sensitive than a normal human, manifesting in night vision and auditory or olfactory feats at +3CS to Observation rolls.
Berzerker Rage: Rarely exhibited, Jungle has been witnessed entering a bezerker state during periods of extreme psychological and physical distress [if more than one half of Jungle's Life is reduced in a single round, or if he fails an Acumen Save as a result of emotional distress] causing a boost of his Reflex, Power and Vigor by +2CS for 1d10 rounds, with a reduction of Acumen and Will by +3CS. During the rage, he also experiences +3CS towards Stun/Shock Saves, and can continue fighting despite prohibitive physical damage. After the rage subsides, he lapses into a near-catatonic, unresponsive state for 8-12 hours.
Reflexive Boost: At the onset of a melee, Jungle may take two actions per round, for 1-6 rounds, unless successfully ambushed.
Body Armor: Jungle’s … Read on for more awesome…
