hahahaha they meet over the romantic glow of a gem-encrusted pagan skull fetish. That's great!

AWESOME concept, AJL. Totally fucking awesome. And the shade over Indy's eyes, from his hat, is such a killer piece of drama.

Seeing as I'm just back to this, I cobbled this together last night (UK time!!) - as the image says 30 mins - no refs at all, save the cover to the first Tomb Raider game!! Shows on the gun...
Hope that works

Here is my entry. Not really familiar with the character, (never even heard of heard until the movies,) so it took me a while to figure out what to do with her. But, the I did have fun once I got going.

Very moody - love the Jolie vibe going there, Vlad. Did you apply the shades digitally? You still doing inks on the computer?

Holy shit, Vlad, the lighting on this is unbelievable! Especially on the hair and on her left shoulder. On the hair, it's the levels of lighting detail, on the shoulder, it's just because it's one of those wierd, realistic lighting things that doesn't really make sense but that you've seen a thousand times. This is a REALLY cool pic, especially for not being familiar with the character.

Gordon, I love how the smoke from the gun is knocked out of the solid black background, as is the fat keyline around the character. I love that kind of stuff, and have since long before I saw my first Frank Miller Sin City book. Cool stuff.

Gordon, your avatar cracks me up. I love it. Great speedsketch too!
Vlad, I mean, I don't even know what to say. It's like looking at a photograph.

Thanks guys, getting going on this piece was tough, but once i figured out what I wanted to do, I just let it go, and had some fun.
Gordon, yes the tones as well as everything else, were done digitally. I have gone pretty much 100% digital about a year ago. These days unless I say something otherwise, it's digital... even if it doesn't look like it.

AJL...this was pretty much what I was going to do...I'm glad you did it though as I'm totally not sure how or if I'll manage this week.
