This was done for Roadkill's This-Week Jam, a weekly exercise where participating artists draw a character chosen at random at the beginning of the week, from a pool of previously submitted ideas from the members as a group. I've drawn Supergirl once before, but I took a Linda Hamilton tact and made her lean and hard with straight hair. She ended up looking super-wrong, so this was a much better, later, attempt. In hindsight, I wouldn't do the perfectly side-view head again, especially with a 1/4 turned figure. It bugs the hell out of me now. But otherwise, I like the pic. I was going for regal, serene and somewhat alienated in the pose, which I think I more or less achieved. I also really like the hair, for which I normally don't ink as many distinct locks...
