This version of Vindicator was my favorite, and really spoke to the transformation of Heather Hudson, in the wake of her beloved husband's death, from a brilliant but underutilized wife of the team leader, to a liberated, confident leader. She took the colors of the late Guardian's armored uniform, adding goggles instead of the familiar cowl, and just by virtue of her feminine form and mane of hair, completely changed the look of the design. I thought it was great.

Then Alpha Flight went to shit a year or so later, and it never found that voice those early issues had.
