These Watchmen illustrations were inspired by a sketch commission I accepted, for a young Silk Spectre. I had to keep going, so i drew the rest of the Minutemen portrayed in the series, with the exception of Comedian, because, I don't know, he's not around long enough.

Ozymandias was pretty foppishly wicked in the book, and it's a continuing testament to Dave Gibbons that every time I read Watchmen, I can't get over how freakishly tacky and fey Ozy looks, and every time, I turn the page and am a little stunned when he starts kicking ass and taking names, Artic-style. What a great take on the uber-man thing. That said, I can't draw him to save my life. This was the best out of three attempts. Ack.
