This was done for Roadkill's This-Week Jam, a weekly exercise where participating artists draw a character chosen at random at the beginning of the week, from a pool of previously submitted ideas from the members as a group.

The revised Batgirl that came out of the No Mans Land storyline in the Batman books was an unusually well-developed, interesting new take in the Bat pantheon. Though apparently the costume was originally worn by the Huntress for some reason or other, which I wouldn't know about because I didn't read these books, after the NML event, the new girl in town in the leather was a young asian orphan named Cassandra Cain, raised by Batman's enemies, shadowing Batman uninvited, kicking ass six ways from sunday, and above all else... she was mute. Plus, that costume design was really neat. I wanted to draw it the first time I saw it. Granted, since then they've given her the ability to not only speak, but speak teen slang, and her Prometheus-style phtographic combat memory seems unaffected... so they just made her a boring super-fighter-chick. But the original concept was awesome. She normally has a bit longer hair, but I was in a nutty mood.
