This was done for Roadkill's This-Week Jam, a weekly exercise where participating artists draw a character chosen at random at the beginning of the week, from a pool of previously submitted ideas from the members as a group.
This particular session of the This Week Jam was a bit unusual, in that the character Batwomen has no known place in current DC continuity. I didn't do much research on her, but I found these references to her from the Golden Age books, and based the yellow figure above on that version of the character, plush purse and all. I did modernize her hair a bit, but otherwise... the foreground figure was featured in a Batman Beyond animated film, and while I'm not remembering "Who IS Batwoman?" as the title of the film intoned, I do remember that she was wearing kick-ass grey duds and was drawn Bruce Timm hot hot HOT... it was hard not to lose the burgundy color in the details, but I tried to stay authentic.
