This was one of several illustartions done by request for Advanced Iron #64, the oldest Iron Man fanzine, currently published on the web. The Thunderbolts image was a composite of several single figures rendered separately. Citizen V is challenging! I discovered in my research that the character was a closeted female cross-dresser at some point after it was no longer Baron Zemo or whatever. However, it's a tough nut to draw a masculine male super-hero physique with the conceit that there are girly parts under there. I rationalized that it would be like the various comic film adaptation costumes, with all the sculpted musculature. I tried to keep Citizen V lean but toned, so that it would look plausible, from a massing point-of-view, that there could be a woman's frame under there . I'm also not a fan of the American flag used in comic costumes, but I admit the shoulder plate design is fun to draw. The swashbuckling sword, on the other hand...
