This piece was done for a Character Jam on one of the art forums. I've never drawn Medusa before, though I've always loved the character. I just tended to find the hair too daunting to deal with when I was younger. That said, I had a great time with this piece. My goal was to create a wall of hair, a literal protective sheath around her, so her posture could remain passive and relaxed. In retrospect, I think I would have made a throne out of the haor, too, to bring in that regal quality to the character as well. Anway, loved it.
