The character for the week on the TRDL R3 This Week Jam was Saturn Girl of the long-running DC series, Legion [of Super Heroes.]

I'm well-known for being a Marvel zombie. Of the more impenetrable DC properties to my young eyes, LoSH was high on the list. The costumes, the NAMES, Superboy involvement, the wacky dates, super heroes in space... it all seemed a little obtuse to me. Not that I batted an eye at the Starjammers in X-Men, but hey, who said anything about being rational about it. Now, of course, I see them totally differently, as this previously untapped resource for drawing subjects. And I appreciate the DC fanbase that we have on the R3 Forum, who followed LoSH the way I'm more familiar with people following X-Men and similar pantheon books. So these are some of my favorite jams, purely from an unfamiliarity standpoint.

The most inspirational aspect of this jam for me was the costume choices... so many variants over the years, from the spacey bodysuits to the old school miniskirts and more. I chose to use the costume designed for the upcoming Legion animated series in development.
