TRDL 2012 Series No. 59 - Black Cat

I’ve drawn Black Cat quite a few times, I have to admit. Being a Marvel kid, she was the quintessential slinky black-clad prowler, exuding rebelliousness, sex appeal, flirtatious temptation, and let’s say a chaotic neutral vibe. Of course, I hadn’t really parsed the way the character was a clone of DC’s Catwoman, which probably does many of these things better. But between the two, which I both enjoy, my childhood loyalty is to Felicia Hardy. While I’ve grown to quite like the modern Catwoman (Darwyn Cooke’s version, sans clunky boots, or the post Adam Hughes version, or the film version) I still find myself drawn to the contrast in Black Cat’s design, with the white mane component and flowing hair. In recent years, it appears she has been well-established as a DD cup with a bodice that can’t zip above the navel, but my version is closer to the old school body type, but with some modern tweaks to the design of the uniform itself.
